BAILA BAILA

ABOUT

Our mission is to make Spanish learning engaging, accessible, and fun while supporting early language development and confidence.

At Baila Baila, we are passionate advocates of bilingual education. Our main goal is to preserve and celebrate Latin roots within the Los Angeles community. Through music, movement, and creativity, we strive to inspire families to embrace Spanish language learning while fostering a deep connection to Latino culture and heritage.

OUR STORY

The Baila Baila Program was established in 2010 as a music-based initiative designed to help families introduce children (ages 0-3) to the Spanish language through engaging and interactive learning experiences by Isabel Brazon. Isabel developed the program after much needed resources to support her family's bilingual goals. As an immigrant from Venezuela, where she studied Social Communication, it was imperative to her to support bilingual education through creative techniques. Her passion for music and vast experience working in children entertainment motivated her to create a fun educational program to introduce children to Spanish.

From 2014 to 2018, Baila Baila operated its own location on Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica, providing a variety of Spanish classes for the community, including music, yoga, storytime, and the renowned toddler-oriented preschool program. In 2017, Baila Baila expanded by opening a second location in Lomita, CA. This location offers the same core programs in a uniquely designed space featuring three different environments for families to explore music and movement classes, library time, and arts and crafts.

Currently, Baila Baila serves LA County Libraries, LA City Libraries, New Jersey Libraries, Brooklyn Libraries, and various unincorporated city libraries, as well as LAUSD and the Simi Valley School District, through its Bilingual Family Show. This performance celebrates Latin culture, movement, and artistic expression. The Baila Baila bilingual band has been featured at major Los Angeles festivals, including the LA Festival of Books, the Arts and Literacy Festival, and the Los Angeles Libros Festival.

To further expand its reach, Baila Baila launched a YouTube channel, which has grown into an essential educational tool for bilingual learning. With over 22.5K subscribers, the channel provides short instructional videos posted weekly, helping children and parents build vocabulary and learn basic expressions in an engaging and accessible format. This digital platform allows Baila Baila to extend its educational mission beyond in-person classes, making Spanish learning available to families across Los Angeles and beyond.

Isabel Brazon, continues to create original music to enrich school-age curricula. To date, she has released four musical albums widely used internationally in bilingual and immersion programs. In 2023, she was honored with the Australian Global Artist of the Year Award from the Funky Kids Radio Show. She is the Spanish voice for the Family Math program—an initiative by PBS SoCal introducing preschoolers to math concepts through music. Additionally, she has collaborated with multiple Grammy-Award-winning bilingual artist 123 Andrés.
